Computer desktop screen blank

why can't I see my chosen file folders on the DESKTOP screen anymore. It's just blank. I was fooling around in settings one day and somehow removed them and don't how to get them back.

It sounds like you mean that you deleted your shortcuts that were to folders on the main desktop?  If you did that then try to restore them back from the recycle bin, they should be there.

Otherwise reboot your computer if its something different and that may restore back if its just a glitch.
