Asked by Anonymous - Mainframe DFSORT - Beyond Maximum Record Length Error: I am running a fairly simple sort and its using outrec to write 5 fields, but this error keeps occuring in the syntax error section of output saying beyond maximum record length. The file lengths all look good to me.

Anonymous Says: Look at each outrec statement, you clearly have something wrong or you wouldnt get that error message.  Make sure the positions stated and lengths stated are not taking you beyond the end of the file.  Double check it, the error is telling you thats the problem.
