Asked by Anonymous - Windows wont stay up - Cost to get fixed: The windows in my house slam down and wont stay up, they actually go up fine originally but eventually something breaks and gives out and the windows slam down HARD.  They are really heavy, how much would this cost to get these fixed?  The window glass is not broken, but I need them fixed not replaced.

Anonymous Says: I had this same issue in my house, and had to get all the windows fixed.  On mine the cause was the builder using a crappy business that used faulty parts (sun eventually baked the plastic pieces and they get brittle and give out .... then window SLAMS, you wouldnt want your fingers under it thats for sure).  The cost for me was just over $400 to get all 6 windows fixed.

Anonymous Says: This is a common problem on houses if your house was purchased a few decades ago.  The rules changes where they could no longer use plastic parts on windows sometime back then.  The good news is once you get them fixed it will probably last a lifetime after its done and the issue will be gone.  Be happy your window didnt break when the window slammed shut otherwise it would cost alot more.
