Posted by Guest - Jaws And Glands Swelling When Eating :
Thank you for this info. Also I want to an ENT ad he also said I wasn't drinking enough water and that when the swelling happens, (only happens on the left side) to put straight lemon juice, tilt my head to the left, massage the lemon juice in and then put some water in there and try to let it sit in there for a while, while massaging the gland (area between the jaw and ear). Hope this helps someone. :-)) It has helped me a lot over the years.

I think it just goes to show you how easy it is to get dehydrated. When my jaw gland was swelling I never really felt that thirsty ever, but clearly I was dehydrated because drinking alot of water eventually got it to return to normal. Just dont expect it to happen within a day or two, it takes a while but words cant describe how good it felt when I ate food and the face didnt swell up finally.

This is actually very common. The first thing people do is PANIC, I did also but its so easy for everyone to over think this stuff. Most regular doctors arent real good at helping with this type of stuff, its an ent dr that you need to see for anything neck up. They are experts in this stuff.
Its a good habit to get into that when you get home at night, fill a 30 ounce mug of water and drink that over the next few hours. It guarantees that way you are always getting an extra 30 ounces of water each night for hydration. Just make sure you finish that at least 2 hours before going to bed, otherwise you will be up 4 times in the middle of the night to piss because when you go to sleep that filters through in a hurry :)
